Ali Akbar Mehta is a Transmedia Artist and member of Museum of Impossible Forms, Helsinki. His current research-based practice focuses on creating immersive archives that explore ‘collective memory’, ‘identity’, ‘violence’, and ‘conflict’. Ongoing projects are ‘256 Million Colours of Violence’ and ‘War Room Echo’. ‘OUT 2’, a collaborative film and research project was showcased in The Research Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale. His archival installation project, ‘Trinity: Godrej Legacy Park Silos’, is in permanent collection of The Godrej Group, Mumbai. He has exhibited projects in New Delhi, Mumbai, Helsinki, and Tampere.
Ali holds a BFA from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, and is pursuing an MA in Visual Culture in Contemporary Art at Aalto University, Helsinki.
