Chaitanya Modak | India

Chaitanya Modak does four things really well – He can think, he can wait longer than most folks, and he’s now learned how to fast intermittently. After this Ananke takes over, making him part writer, illustrator, film maker and artist – basically a designer. With a firm belief in the entrepreneurial free market work ethic, he stays a freelancer and makes books under the moniker Won-Tolla[1], films as Bambai ki Billi[2], and runs a branding and graphic design studio called Inhouse Design in Pune. He believes that happiness should be shared and works on community and public collaborations, and facilitates workshops on design, filmaking, wallpainting and co.mix. Chaitanya is a co-founder and volunteer at the Indie Comix Fest, and the founder of the community wall mural project - Bhitti Chitra. He is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

In 2011, Chaitanya set up an indie publishing label – WonTolla: Co.mix, Zines and other literature and has published nine graphic narratives  and anthologies including Sleepsutra(2018), Be A Man (2017) Comix Epidemic (2015) and The Manual of Love (2013). 

His films been screened at festivals including the Mumbai International Film Festival, 4th Independent South Asian Film festival, and the Kara International Film Festival.
