Rajyashri Goody lives and works in Pune. She completed her BA in Sociology at Fergusson College in Pune, and an MA in Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester, England in 2013. Goody’s art practice is informed by her background in the social sciences as well as her Dalit roots. Through the use of various mediums made with found objects and food items, she attempts to decode and make visible instances of everyday power and resistance within Dalit communities in India. 

She had a solo exhibition, ‘Eat With Great Delight’, at Clark House Initiative, Mumbai. Her group exhibitions include Experiment with Truth, Sahmat, New Delhi, 2019, Within/Without, Asia House, London, 2018, Working Practices, The Showroom, London, 2018, Revelations: Reclaiming South Asian Narratives, Harvard University, Cambridge, 2018; Micro-Subversions Playbook, Conflictorium, Baroda, 2018 and others.  

Goody’s recent residencies took place at ISCP, New York, 2018, Khoj International, New Delhi, 2017; Rijksakademie, Amsterdam, 2017; Asia Culture Centre, Gwangju, 2016; Bamboo Curtain Studio, Taipei, 2015; and Khoj Refracting Rooms at TIFA Working Studios, Pune, 2015. In early 2018 she completed a visiting artist fellowship at Harvard University, Cambridge.
