Aritra Sarkar | India
Aritra is a Pune based film-making student whose growing years in Calcutta shaped his ideas and knowledge of storytelling through sounds and images. While working primarily on films and occasionally on still photography, he tries to approach his subjects as an internal reflection of himself and generally struggles with the idea of compassion. In his own words,
“My life, with or without colour is as impactful as it is with or without Gender. It is therefore necessary for me to understand the existence and the power of intimacy, tenderness and healing. Otherwise the world would be a difficult place to live in. 'Everyone Dies Grey - Queer Days through My Lens' is a reflection of just that . . . the way I have chosen to live irrespective of the absolute fluid human nature I deal with on a regular basis. If I owe anything to my soul, it is only my body.”
